SASSA Payment Dates August 2024, Social Grants schedule released officially

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) helps many South Africans with their money, especially the old, disabled, and children. This guide tells you everything you need to know about making payments to SASSA from now until early 2025.

In August 2024, SASSA grant payments will be made a little later than normal. The Old Age Grant payment will be made early, but the Disability and Children’s grants payments will be made a little later. The time for payment has been changed to run from Friday, August 2, 2024, to Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

SASSA Payment Schedule for August 2024

The three non-SRD R370 handouts from the South African Social Security Agency will be given out in the following ways:

• Older Person Grants: Friday, 02 August 2024 – R2,180 (60 years old) and R2,200 (75 years old).
• Disability Grants: Monday, 05 August 2024 – R2,180.
• Childcare Grants: Tuesday, 06 August 2024 – R530 (Child Support), R1,180 (Foster Care), and R2,180 (Care Dependency).

Who is Eligible for SASSA Payments?

Those who want to apply for SASSA grants must meet the following requirements:

1. 1. Older Persons Grants: South African citizens or permanent residents aged 60 or older.
   2. Disability Grants: Individuals with a disability that prevents them from working.
   3. Childcare Grants: Primary caregivers of children under the age of 18.

Who May Not Receive SASSA Payments?

Some people might not get paid because:
