Simone Biles, an American gymnastics superstar, had three “golden moments” at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. They made her feel relieved, not happy.

“People expect me to win, so whenever I do, I feel like I’ve accomplished something. I’m done. “Let’s move on to the next one,” Biles told Aly Raisman of Olympics.com in an exclusive interview on Tuesday, August 6.

That’s what she did: she won gold in team events, all-around events, and vault events in a row.

Yes, she celebrated. After the team final, she raised one finger in victory, and in the all-around final, she ran onto the floor with Suni Lee, who won third place, holding an American flag.

But her real happiness came out when other people won, like when Italy’s Alice D’Amato and Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade won historic gold medals and when her training partner Jordan Chiles won bronze in the floor exercise.

“When they do something for someone else, I know and see how hard they worked on it,” Biles said. “Because I don’t feel the same since I’ve been living in my own body.” “Okay, thank God that’s over,” I think. I know I put in the hours and the work.

The 27-year-old has won 11 Olympic medals, including seven golds, but she knows that some people will say she should have won gold on the balance beam or silver on the floor.

“People will have to talk, tweet, or do something else,” Biles said.

It doesn’t bother her.

Biles sees those times as chances to cheer for her friends in a way she can’t do for herself.

“When I see someone else do it, that’s how excited I get because I know how hard it was, and I wish I could celebrate myself that way,” she said. “But for me, it’s just like, ‘Whew, thank God that’s over!'”

“But for someone else, I’m like, ‘Wooo! “Let’s go!”
